4.4.42 New Web Packaging

2012-05-02

  • New Web View 2.6.4 now:
    • includes a later version of Ruby and is distributed as a separate feature in the install package. This provides a faster startup and a better foundation for future development. See download page for the additional step needed when next upgrading computer hosting Web View.
    • automatically requests Run as administrator permission when adding or removing Windows Service invocation and requires use of Manage Services for starting or stopping.
  • New Sort by options in Location by Day of: Working Location, Type (not working sorted last) and (not working intermixed).
  • If Home Location isn't set on any employee, a reminder to set displays at start-up.
  • Location by Day screen once again automatically shows all of the new shifts when multiple are created at one time (e.g. for meetings, public holiday paid time, etc.).

4.4.36 Conflict Screen: Delete "This Day Only" Shifts

  • The Conflict Screen now highlights existing shifts with a less frequent recurrence in red and allows you to designate that they also are to be deleted. This simplifies using Fast Entry for Vacation entry (especially when preloaded by Edit>Away).

4.4.32 Easier 2 to 5 day vacation entry

  • Fast Entry and Clone now asks, for additional days of the week (in This Day Only mode), whether to delete the conflicting shift and its service points (eliminates a manual delete!).
  • New Edit>Location Web Tab to optionally specify, per location, a maximum length to display for notes and/or date range for which shifts will display (see new Edit>Date Range). A soon to be released Web View will support these new parameters.
  • Edit>Away tweaked to include notes in its report and have [Ok] enabled when Fast Entry clicked.

4.4.31 Personal Web Logins; Name format/sort Report control

  • New Web View 2.6.0 features:

  • Web Login now supports picking your name (or Guest). Any personal password setup in Edit>Staff is used, otherwise any password specified in Tools>Web Services [Options] is used.

  • New [Who's Away] button displays who's away for the specified period.

  • If personally logged in, new quick buttons of [My Graph] and [My Table] are provided and the [Who's Away] button will show just the employees in the applicable Employee Group (specified in Edit>Staff).

  • Where Working Reports now allow you to specify whether names will be formatted and sorted by First Last, Last, First or Abbreviation once Tools>Activate>Minimum Schedule3W Level is done for 4.4.31.

4.4.29 New Fiscal Year and Quarter report date ranges

  • The Web View Graph: Days x Time for an Employee warning that a single employee must be ticked has been restored.

  • Employees now may be selected by Home Location and/or Employee Type. Makes saved URLs even more powerful!

  • Database tables are automatically cached to provide faster response once Tools>Activate>Minimum Schedule3W Level is done for 4.4.24.

  • New Edit>Staff right-click Global Set menu entry will set selected employees to the current employee's value for Type, Home Location, $/Hr or Away Request Employee Group.

  • Help>About screen now displays the last month of your current subscription.

4.4.23 Web View: Sort employees by Home Location or Type

  • New Sort employees by option adds support for Home Location and Employee Type. [Save defaults] now includes this setting.

  • All displays sorted by Location now use any Override Sorts specified in Edit>Location.

  • New Table formats: Employee and Location by Date
  • New interface for selecting Location(s) and Employee(s) that includes a Filter option.
  • New replacement date picker (i.e. Calendar).
  • New option to select Name Format (e.g. Last, First).
  • New [Save Defaults] button will save in a cookie the current view and name format as the opening/Reset default.
  • Graph formats now support shifts that cross midnight and, to help readability when scrolling, have space between rows, the vertical lines at 9, 12, 3, etc. are red and the time labels are repeated at the bottom.
  • Start day parameter of saved URLs (e.g. sday=) now supports an explicit date (in addition to days away). Great for e-mailing a link to next term's schedule!
  • Graph: Employees x Time, which only shows one day, now leaves calendar end date unchanged and displays a hint.
  • The color of grouped vacation/sick is now the color of the alphabetically first vacation subtype location (rather than always yellow).

Edit>Staff, when saving a new username matching the e-mail address, now offers to set all blank usernames for employees with the same e-mail domain.

4.4.18 Reports: 14 time period columns and Rotation Letter option

  • Who's/Where working: * x time period reports now support up to 14 time periods as columns.
  • Report Titles and Footers will automatically replace the new Rotation Week code, <rw>, with the applicable bracketed week letter. FYI: Rotation Week Letter is activated in Tools>Options>Staffed Hours tab.
  • Summary by reports now have a wider Cost column.
  • Internal notes maximum size has been expanded from 100 to 255 characters.

4.4.17 Full Location name row labels in "Who's working: Location x week"

  • Row labels of Who's Working: Location by Week are now the full, rather than abbreviated, location name.
  • Error 94 no longer occurs on databases that have not yet activated Internal Notes (i.e have minimum version of Schedule3W less than 4.2.07).
