June 27th, 2012 • By: Schedule3W

Summary of the new features of version 4.5:

  • (4.4.54) New Web [Away request] and [My away requests] buttons for employee web entry and viewing of away (i.e. vacation) requests. This is the first feature of the new Update Module (free until additional functionality is included).
  • (4.4.46) New Bar Color setting for each employee. Set individually or via Global Set. Location by Week, when showing one location, may be configured to use these colors.
  • (4.4.46) Where working: x days reports, when only one Working (assignable to SP) type location is included, suppresses that location name for cleaner layout.
  • (4.4.42) Web View now includes a later version of Ruby and is distributed as a separate feature in the install package. This provides a faster startup and a better foundation for future development. See download page for the additional step needed when next upgrading the computer hosting Web View.
  • (4.4.36) The Conflict Screen now highlights existing shifts with a less frequent recurrence in red and allows you to designate that they also are to be deleted.
  • (4.4.31) New Web View features:
    • Web Login now supports picking your name (or Guest).
    • If personally logged in, new quick buttons of [My Graph] and [My Table] are provided.
    • New [Who's Away] button displays who’s away for the specified period in that employee’s Away Group
  • (4.4.31) Where Working Reports now allow you to specify whether names will be formatted and sorted by First Last, Last, First or Abbreviation.
  • (4.4.29) Tools>Reports now supports predefined date selects for fiscal year: last/this and quarter: last/this/next as useful for Favorite Reports.
  • (4.4.24) New Web View allows Employees to be selected by Home Location and/or Employee Type. Makes saved URLs even more powerful!
  • (4.4.24) New Edit>Staff right-click Global Set menu entry will set selected employees to the current employee’s value for Type, Home Location, $/Hr or Away Request Employee Group.
  • (4.4.20) New Edit>Away Requests for tracking requests for Vacation, Sick, Conference, etc. through their full life cycle and simplifying entry. See details by Help>Index enter away and click Overview.

    • Start day parameter of saved URLs (e.g. sday=) now supports an explicit date (in addition to days away). Great for e-mailing a link to next term’s schedule!
  • (4.4.18) Who’s/Where working: * x time period reports now support up to 14 time periods as columns.
  • (4.4.18) Report Titles and Footers will automatically replace the new Rotation Week code, <rw>, with the applicable bracketed week letter.
  • (4.4.11) New Automatic User Authentication eliminates password entry when the current Window’s username matches the Edit>Staff Username.
  • (4.4.09) New Tools>Reports advanced employee select ([AdvEmpSel] button) will select only the employees working in a location or a location group during the report dates. Use it to show shifts in shared locations (e.g. vacations, meetings, etc.) only for employees actually working in a specific department.
  • (4.4.08) Fast Entry and Clone now ask, for This Day Only shifts, whether to delete the conflicting shift and its service points (eliminates a manual delete!).
  • (4.4.07) New right-click Clone+Sp option will copy the Working shift and all of its Service Point shifts in one step. Great for giving different people the same Saturday schedule!
